Chapter 1: The Cold Silence

AEGIS Forward Recon Platoon – “Echo Wolf” Unit

The blizzard was unforgiving.

Flakes of snow, sharp as glass, howled across the jagged cliffs. The four AEGIS commandos trudged through the knee-deep snow, their night-vision helmets flickering under the electromagnetic interference of the region. Captain Lian Khatri, hardened by 27 missions, raised her fist—halt signal.

"Scan pinged again," she whispered, breath clouding. "Movement. Forty meters. Something fast."

Sergeant Bose tightened his grip on the frost-coated rifle. “We’re not alone.”

Suddenly, the wind fell silent.

Then came a click.

The motion sensors in their exosuits screamed as shadows darted between the trees—blurred, crawling, almost inhuman shapes.

And then… chaos.

From the fog came jagged weapons—bone-carved blades, claws, and fangs. One commando was yanked into the mist, his scream ending in a wet crunch. Another was impaled and dragged away so quickly the snow barely stained red.

Captain Lian activated her distress beacon. “This is Echo Wolf! We are under—”

The transmission cut off.

Only her bloody helmet rolled down the icy slope, the signal blinking once… then fading.

Chapter 2: Omega City – Debrief

Two days later, inside AEGIS Command:

Commander Rael Kanine stared at the frozen video footage on screen: distorted figures surrounding the commando team, eyes glowing dimly through the mist.

“No heat signatures. No known tech. And no tracks left behind,” said Raptor, arms folded.

Queen Amara stood behind them, loading an energy cell into her rifle.

“We’re going to need more than just intel,” she said. “We need warriors.”

Rael nodded grimly.

“Thirteen of our best. No reinforcements. No drones. No backup.”

He paused.

“They're not human… and they’re hunting.”
