Chapter 11: Nayi Shuruaat (नई शुरुआत, “A New Beginning”)
Posted on June 1, 2025, at 10:00 PM IST
Priya apne chhote se gaon, Chhattisgarh ke ek kone mein wapas aayi thi, jahan ki hawa ab bhi uske bachpan ki yaadon se bhari thi. Par ab woh yaadein ek door ka sapna lagti thi. Uske ghar ki deewaron par purani tasveerein thi—uske pitaji ke saath kheton mein daudte hue, uski maa ke saath holi khelte hue—par ab woh sab ek alag duniya ka hissa lagta tha. Priya ka dil ab bhi Bastar ke jungle mein atka tha, jahan Nagin ki siskari uske sapnon mein har raat goonjti thi. Woh aksar raat ko cheekh kar uth jaati, uske haathon mein wohi sniper rifle ka ehsaas, aur aankhon ke samne Nagin ki hari-chandi aankhein.
Ek raat, jab Priya apne purane military gear ko saaf kar rahi thi, usne apne backpack ke ek chhote se pocket mein kuch ajeeb sa dekha—ek chhoti si shishi, jismein hari roshni se bhara ek liquid tha. Yeh wahi zehar tha jo mandir mein vial mein dekha tha, Operation Naga ka ek tukda. Priya ka dil dhadak utha. Usne shishi ko haath mein liya, aur raat ke sannate mein, woh roshni tez hone lagi, jaise koi usse bula raha ho.
Reporter ki awaaz mein ek bechaini thi: “Bastar ke jungle mein ek baar phir khauf ka mahaul hai. Gaon walon ka kehna hai ki ek nayi Nagin ne shikaar shuru kar diya hai—teen logon ke laashen mili hain, unke shareeron par saanp jaisa nishaan aur zehar ke daag.” Priya ka haath TV remote par ruk gaya. Ek gaon wali aurat camera ke samne ro rahi thi: “Woh wapas aayi hai… woh shaitan humein khatam kar degi!” Priya ki aankhein band ho gayi—kya yeh sach tha? Kya Nagin wapas aayi thi, ya yeh Operation Naga ka koi aur roop tha?
Priya ne apne gear ke paas rakhi shishi ko phir se dekha. Usne apna faisla kar liya. “Agar yeh shakti ab bhi zinda hai, toh main ise khatam karungi—ek baar aur hamesha ke liye,” usne apne aap se kaha, uski awaaz mein ek nayi sakhti. Usne apni sniper rifle uthayi, apne gear ko pack kiya, aur jungle ki taraf wapas jaane ka plan banaya. Usne apne pitaji ke liye ek chhota sa note chhoda: “Main wapas aaungi, pitaji. Par pehle mujhe apni jung khatam karni hai.”
Raat ke andhere mein, Priya ek jeep mein jungle ki taraf nikal padi. Uske dil mein ek saath dar aur gussa tha—dar, kyunki usne Nagin ka khauf dekha tha, aur gussa, kyunki uski team ki maut ka badla abhi baki tha. Jungle ka wohi andhera usse phir se gher raha tha, aur door kahin, ek hari roshni chamak rahi thi, jaise koi uska intezar kar raha ho.
Yeh ek nayi shuruaat thi—ek nayi jung ki shuruaat.
English Translation of Chapter 11: A New Beginning
Priya had returned to her small village in a corner of Chhattisgarh, where the air still carried memories of her childhood. But those memories now felt like a distant dream. The walls of her home were adorned with old photos—running through fields with her father, playing Holi with her mother—but they now seemed part of another world. Priya’s heart was still trapped in the Bastar jungle, where the Nagin’s hiss echoed in her nightmares every night. She often woke up screaming, the feel of her sniper rifle still in her hands, and the Nagin’s green-silver eyes haunting her vision.
One night, while cleaning her old military gear, Priya found something strange in a small pocket of her backpack—a tiny vial filled with a glowing green liquid. It was the same venom she had seen in the temple’s vials, a remnant of Operation Naga. Her heart raced. She held the vial, and in the silence of the night, the glow intensified, as if something was calling to her. Priya quickly locked the vial in a box, but sleep evaded her. Was this power still alive?
The next morning, Priya turned on her small TV, which was tuned to a local news channel. The reporter’s voice was laced with unease: “Fear has gripped the Bastar jungle once again. Villagers claim a new Nagin has begun hunting—three bodies have been found, with snake-like marks and venom traces on them.” Priya’s hand froze on the remote. A village woman was crying in front of the camera: “She’s back… that devil will destroy us!” Priya closed her eyes—was this true? Had the Nagin returned, or was this another manifestation of Operation Naga?
Priya looked at the vial she had placed near her gear. She made her decision. “If this power is still alive, I’ll end it—once and for all,” she said to herself, her voice firm with resolve. She picked up her sniper rifle, packed her gear, and planned her return to the jungle. She left a small note for her father: “I’ll be back, Papa. But first, I have to finish my battle.”
In the darkness of the night, Priya set out toward the jungle in a jeep. Her heart was a mix of fear and anger—fear, because she had witnessed the Nagin’s terror, and anger, because her team’s deaths still demanded vengeance. The jungle’s familiar darkness enveloped her once more, and in the distance, a green light glowed, as if something was waiting for her.
This was a new beginning—the start of a new battle.
Notes for Chapter 11
- Sci-Fi Elements: The glowing vial and the news of a “new Nagin” hint at the lingering sci-fi threat of Operation Naga’s energies, suggesting the experiment’s fallout continues.
- Gore: This chapter focuses on suspense rather than gore, though the mention of venom traces on the new victims sets up potential horror.
- Bollywood Aesthetic: Priya’s haunted nightmares, the village woman’s dramatic warning, and her determined return to the jungle evoke the emotional and suspenseful tone of 1970s Bollywood horror.
- Foreshadowing: The vial’s glow and the reports of a new Nagin build toward the open-ended conclusion, setting up Priya’s return to face an evolved threat.
Plan for Chapter 12 (June 2, 2025)
Title: Andhera Phir Se (अंधेरा फिर से, “Darkness Again”)
Title: Andhera Phir Se (अंधेरा फिर से, “Darkness Again”)
- Priya reaches the jungle and finds remnants of the temple, where the green light is stronger, emanating from a new crystal formation.
- She encounters a mutated creature, a byproduct of the core’s energy, with features resembling the Nagin but more grotesque.
- Priya fights the creature, narrowly surviving, and realizes the energy has evolved into something worse.
- The chapter ends with Priya vowing to destroy the new crystal, hearing a faint hiss in the distance, leaving the story open for a potential sequel.
I’ll post Chapter 12 tomorrow at 10:00 PM IST. Let me know if you’d like any adjustments to the tone, pacing, or specific elements (e.g., more gore, sci-fi details, or Bollywood drama) for the final chapter, or if you’d like to refine the open ending further. The story is heading toward a suspenseful, open-ended conclusion!
