Speed Over Strength
Speedy T skidded backward, boots sparking as he braced for another charge. Blood dripped from his arm, but his eyes were locked, calculating.
Subject RB-01 let out a war cry and lunged forward—jagged sword raised, claws ready to tear.
Speedy vanished—split-second blur—reappearing mid-air behind the beast. He struck the back of RB-01’s neck with a full-speed kinetic punch, releasing a shockwave. The mutant stumbled but didn’t fall.
“You’re durable, I’ll give you that,” Speedy muttered, cracking his knuckles. “But you ain’t the only one with a trick.”
He pulled out a small device from his belt—a micro-sonic destabilizer, developed by AEGIS specifically for high-stamina threats.
He activated it.
RB-01 roared again, charging blind in fury.
Speedy dashed sideways and planted the device on the beast’s back. In seconds, it pulsed, releasing concentrated frequency waves that disoriented the monster’s balance.
RB-01 staggered.
Speedy T used the moment.
With a final burst of energy, he ran in a circle so fast it ignited a vortex of electricity. He sprinted up a nearby building wall, ricocheted off, and delivered a supersonic punch to the monster’s jaw—direct hit.
RB-01 crashed into a concrete barrier, his sword clattering beside him.
Unconscious. Contained.
AEGIS vehicles surrounded the scene. Queen Amara arrived, landing gracefully beside Speedy T, who was catching his breath.
She looked at the beast. “Still alive?”
“Barely,” Speedy said, wiping his lip. “You owe me a milkshake.”
Amara smiled faintly. “Next time, take backup.”
Speedy T looked at the mutant one more time. “What the hell are they building down there?”

Epilogue Tease:
Back at the AEGIS Labs, scientists inspect Subject RB-01’s DNA.
Dr. Reina Frost frowns at the screen. “This isn’t just one beast. It’s a prototype. There’s a list... and it's incomplete.”
